We are pleased to introduce a rare shirt that is very similar to the Okinawa Tiger shirt pattern with the distinctive TO78 stamp, but without the stamp, said to have been manufactured in the late 1970s. The pattern is very similar to the Silver Tiger, and this piece is also known as TDD by some collectors. There is a later lot that is presumed to have been manufactured in Taiwan, but this shirt with the TO78 stamp is believed to have been made in Okinawa. The bright green color is very distinctive. There are no missing buttons. The shirt is in good condition with some signs of use. Occasionally this pattern is found in deadstock condition and may still have the paper tag with the contract number. There is also uncertainty as to how this pattern was used during the Vietnam War. There are stories that it was used by some USN boat patrol teams, but we have rarely seen US cuts in this fabric in large sizes, and there is much mystery regarding its operation. This is a pattern that many people like because of its distinctive color and the fact that it was probably the last lot made in Japan. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
