Introducing the WINDPROOF camouflage pants worn by the British SAS (Special Air Service) during World War II. These pants are also called "brushstroke camouflage" by collectors, but they are identical. The SAS is a historical unit that is still active as a special forces unit in the British Army, and at the time of WWII was active in sabotage, airborne operations, assault operations using vehicles, etc. The camouflage for them was used in these pants. After WWII, these pants were used by French paratroopers in the Indochina War, and are also famous for their camouflage. In the Indochina War, the same fabric was used to make paratrooper pants, and the smock was modified with a zipper to make it easier to put on and take off, and this camouflage was used until the 1950s.
These pants are a replica of the Indochina War-era French modifications described above. They are probably based on the actual British Army Windproof pants from the 1940s, which have been modified. Unlike the usual pants, they have been modified with a button fly and an elastic waistband to make them easier to wear. The pants are actual WWII British Army pants, but the modifications are not thought to be from that period. They are easier to wear than normal British Army pants.
They were originally made with a larger waist and designed for use in airborne operations. They are used, not unused, and have some fading and stains. The fading is also somewhat generalized. The straps used to tie the waist are still in place and the straps are not frayed in the slightest. Please note that the fabric at the base of the straps can easily tear if tightened too strongly when worn. There are no missing buttons, and although it is difficult to see in the photos, the ankle adjusters have also been modified with elastic. The overall color has faded and is in Used condition. This is a very rare item, so don't miss out if you are looking for it. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
