This tiger stripe hat was worn by soldiers who participated in the irregular CIDG program during the Vietnam War in the early 1960s. Commonly known as the CIDG Patrol Cap, it is a cap with a complicated structure that was manufactured only during a very limited period of time. Unlike boonie hats, the size can be adjusted with a strap at the back of the hat, and it has a distinctive shape with an octagonal tuck like USMC utility caps and Garrison caps. Although it is a jungle patrol cap, it is a very interesting early cap with influences from 1950s US military hats. Overall, the surface is faded and has strong sun fading. It is a very rare cap and will be one of the few great tiger stripe caps in existence. If you are looking for one, please do not miss out on this opportunity. Because it is a used item, it cannot be returned. Please understand.
