This is a MACV SOG t-shirt made from a civilian white t-shirt that was later dyed black. It is an actual item from the period.

The t-shirt has a 1960s Pennys tag sewn on it that reads "Towne craft Pima Prince Penney's". It was probably a civilian T-shirt brought in as personal effects and dyed later. The dye is also mottled and we assume that it was done by an individual. It is definitely from a MACV SOG soldier's background, and although there is no record of this shirt, the way it has been altered and how it came out with the uniform suggest that it was used by a MACV SOG or similar Special Forces soldier.
